Drammen Health Park
– Part of Norway's New Health District

A Driving Force for Collaboration and Innovation

Drammen Health Park, together with the new Drammen hospital and the green Fjordpark, lays the foundation for a completely transformed health district. This bold and historic project unites, strengthens, and advances Norway's healthcare offerings. In this new district, we are paving the way for research, education, development, testing, and the provision of both current and future groundbreaking healthcare services.

Alongside the hospital’s central role, we integrate education, research, volunteering, municipal healthcare, technology firms, entrepreneurs, and leading healthcare professionals.

Together, we are cultivating a collaborative ecosystem for co-creation, knowledge exchange, and innovation, propelling the evolution of healthcare- services in Norway.

The Fjord-park – A Green Connection Between Drammen and Lier

Nestled between the Drammensfjord and the new Drammen hospital lies the Fjord-park – a developing recreational space that will serve as an essential link between Drammen and Lier. Currently under construction, the park is scheduled for completion in time for the new hospital's opening in 2025.

As a part of this initiative, the Fjord-park will be accessible to all, offering a long-awaited enhancement to the area. It will serve as a peaceful retreat where patients, visitors, and hospital staff at Drammen hospital and Drammen Health Park can unwind. With its prime location and thoughtful design, the Fjord-park will soon become a cherished space for the local community.

New Drammen Hospital

The construction of the new Drammen hospital is well underway by Helse Sør-Øst RHF and Vestre Viken HF, with an expected completion date in 2025. Located at Brakerøya, the modern facility will replace both Drammen and Blakstad Hospitals, combining somatic care, mental health services, and specialized substance-abuse treatment in one integrated space.

Designed with future needs in mind, this new hospital will offer a comprehensive and contemporary treatment environment for patients and staff alike.

A Thriving Environment

The convergence of people and activities within the Health District at Brakerøya naturally creates a demand for retail and service options. To meet this, Drammen Health Park offers an extensive variety of services and amenities at street level, contributing to the vibrancy and energy of the area.

Spanning a 440-meter-long street-level area, the park will feature everything from gyms and bookstores to dining spots, shops, and other essential services. This diverse range of offerings makes it convenient for those working or visiting the health park to easily meet their everyday needs, fostering a sustainable and well-rounded urban environment for employees, visitors, patients, and neighbors alike.

The Health District – A Collective Hub

The health district is strategically located to ensure easy access, no matter how you travel. With its proximity to Brakerøya station, the area offers frequent train and bus departures, making it easy to travel to and from – whether you're heading to Oslo, Tønsberg, or Kongsberg.

Seamless Access by Car and Taxi
For drivers and taxi users, the health district is ideally located right by the on- and off-ramps to the E18. Additionally, there is an underground parking garage beneath all the buildings in Drammen Health Park, providing convenient parking options for visitors, employees, and users.

Focus on Sustainable Transport Solutions
For those who prefer to walk or cycle, the area is well-equipped with new pedestrian and cycling paths. These contribute to a safe and environmentally friendly route, making the health district an accessible hub for all types of transportation.
